Hi, we're Akshat and Ruchita — partners in life, parenting, and Kaul Photography.

​

Twelve years ago, this began with a camera, a growing family, and Ruchita's unshakeable belief that Akshat's eye for a moment was something special. She was right. What started as capturing our own family's milestones has grown into more than a decade of photographing weddings, Mehndis, Sangeets, Sweet 16s, maternity journeys, and anniversaries across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Here's what makes us different: when you book Kaul Photography, you get us — only us. No rotating second shooters you've never met. No handing your files to an outsourced editor overseas. From your first phone call to the moment your final gallery arrives, every conversation, every frame, and every edit passes through our hands personally.

And now, there’s a little bit of the next generation joining the story.

Meet Anay — our part-time videographer, photo-culling assistant, and full-time multitasker.

​

When he’s not leading his school’s Dog Rescue Club, competing in Science Olympiad, or balancing his academic pursuits, Anay occasionally trades his textbooks for a camera.

​

As a high school student with a passion for science, music, and problem-solving, Anay brings curiosity, patience, and a fresh perspective to our family business. He helps us capture videos at events and assists with photo culling — the painstaking process of going through hundreds, sometimes thousands, of images to help identify the expressions, emotions, and fleeting moments that deserve to be remembered.

Between his academic commitments, passion for animal welfare, leadership activities, and love of music, we’re not entirely sure how he finds the time. But whenever he does, we love having him alongside us.

​

For Anay, it’s an opportunity to learn the art of storytelling through a lens. For us, it’s something even more special — sharing a passion we’ve spent twelve years building with the next generation of our family.

We've spent twelve years learning the rhythm of celebrations — especially multi-day South Asian weddings, where we know the Haldi will run late, the Baraat will be beautiful chaos, and the one photo Nani wants is worth planning for. We shoot as a team: one of us anchored on the couple, the other catching the laughter, tears, and mischief happening everywhere else.

Our goal has never changed: to capture the love, laughter, and little moments that matter most — so that decades from now, you don't just see your celebration. You feel it again.
